Toronto Pearson Launches Healthy Airport Program Featuring Innovative Partnership With Precise ParkLink

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) – the Toronto Pearson International Airport’s operator – recently launched its “Healthy Airport” program alongside its commitment to the changes the airport and its partners have deployed to adapt their services to the new realities of pandemic-influenced air travel.

Designated North America’s best airport for three years now, the GTAA took the lead early-on to evaluate what the future-state of air travel will look like. The result has been a diligent and thorough undertaking to effect change to and within their operational processes, allowing them to meet the new health and safety realities alongside the expectations of passengers with a healthy, high-quality, and hygiene-focussed airport experience.

Deborah Flint, GTAA President and CEO explains that “There are many tools we’ve employed that allow for more touchless, biometric, contactless, that speeds up processes and allows people to go through the airport journey without having to touch different facilities that they would’ve in the past. But these are optional. People have the opportunity to drive their car in using license plate recognition, or use their phone for parking payments. Or they can use our traditional payment methods as well, which are still very available.” She further states “We’re nimble, we’re ready, we’re agile, we’re working with the best-in-class organizations across the world to help set standards, and also make sure that we are exceeding those standards as well.”

As the GTAA and airport’s current parking technology partner, Precise ParkLink has assisted the GTAA in enabling their vision of a touch-free and contactless experience in that key first and last experience of a passengers’ journey. Advanced parking technology such as license plate recognition and tap-and-go at parking lot entries, exits, and pay stations have for many years supported the GTAA in being an industry leader.

Precise ParkLink’s recent development and addition of mobile payment methods and touchless ticket dispensing to its suite of parking technology are examples of how the airport’s best-in-class partnerships are working to enable rapid adaptation and change management to its drastically changing environments.

Precise ParkLink will continue to support GTAA’s Healthy Program endeavours with advanced touchless technology solutions.
