As society continues to evolve towards complete digitization, organizations across all sectors need to follow suit. The same goes for the parking mobility industry. Transforming your existing parking infrastructure to meet and exceed the needs of today’s consumers should remain a key consideration, as touchless and digital technology becomes the new norm.

Precise ParkLink is prepared to help property managers provide their staff and visitors digital access solutions that make parking all that much easier. The benefit of both gated and non-gated parking facilities is that digital permits provide an all-around faster, safer, and more convenient customer experience. They range from scan-and-go options to vehicle transponders and Bluetooth Low Energy that can be used by frequent visitors such as staff or tenants or by visitors preregistered for parking validations or reservations.

So, what does the future of digital access look like? It’s fast, it’s flexible, and in many cases, it’s frictionless.  Below is a high-level overview of digital permit options.

Scan-and-Go Parking Access

Integrating barcode scanners with your existing parking technology is an easy way to begin accepting digital permits, validations and reservations in the form of a QR code or barcode. Successfully read when printed, or on a mobile device, QR and barcode access has formed a new standard in the parking and mobility industry and can be integrated with gated and non-gated parking technology.

Not only do they provide more straightforward, safer and faster experiences, they also foster accessibility and the ability to connect parking to building access, customer-specific reservations and event registrations.

Transponder Parking Permits

Installing RFID readers alongside your existing parking technology is also an easy way to begin accepting digital permits in the form of vehicle transponders. Able to detect transponders on vehicle dashboards, long-range RFID proximity readers offer permit holders hands-free and frictionless access to gated parking facilities. Transponders are immediately detected and read upon arrival at a gated parking entry, permitting instant access.

This, too, can be an option for visitors with reservations and validations. However, due to hardware considerations, scan-and-go digital permits tend to be the go-to option.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Access

The implementation of BLE access is closer than we think. Soon, BLE permits, validations and reservations will be used as a credential to access gated parking facilities without having to do anything except turn their mobile Bluetooth on. Their payment will be detected and verified via a BLE reader. And after that, vehicle BLE will become a widely used alternative to mobile BLE.

As a leader in the parking and mobility industry, we understand the importance of connectivity and convenience. That is why you can also integrate digital permit options through Parkedin™— a mobile platform that connects customers from point A to Z. Join the touchless evolution, invest in digital permit options!
